1st Day Back to Work from Maternity Leave

So Im lucky enough to have a stay at home mom. Because she is the one watching over my 7 weeks old baby boy. Im not going to lie to you, I shed a tear or 2 when I dropped him off this morning. But I know he is in good hands.
Some of you working moms might not be as lucky as me. you have to pay tons of money for daycare and you don't really know the people watching over your baby. But lets face it. Everything is going up! gas, groceries, rent, bills, interests lol. We couldn't afford me not working anymore... :( and it sucked. I never thought I would want to be a stay at home mom, since my mom did it my whole life. She cooked, cleaned the house, did laundry and took care of us.
I always said.. I will never be a stay at home mom, Im independent, I like working and having my own money, I don't want a guy to take care of me... When I got married (almost 2 years ago) I said the same thing. Im not staying home and becoming your maid honey lol Well, things change... After I had my little bundle of joy I changed my mind. I wanted to tell my hubby that I wouldn't mind becoming a maid like I call it. I just wanted to stay home with my little one, and take care of him, I would even learn how to cook lol. But like I said sometimes with this though times you cant afford it. I know my situation is different from many of you but here are some things you guys can do to be able to go thru your first day back from maternity leave!
1. Spend as much time as you can with your little one the night before.
2. Talk to him, tell him mommy is going back to work, and she is going to be able to buy him so many things, and that he is going to be ok! (this, believe it or helps you out a lot! (; because YOU start to believe it)
3. Before you go back to work make as many trips as you can to the place where your baby will be staying at
4. ask if you can do video calls! if you can.. you should totally do one at lunch time. Seeing your baby is calm and ok will help you get thru the day!
5. Wake up early that first day, cuddle with him, cry with him and remind yourself that youre doing this to give your baby a better future!
6. When you are at work, try to not think about it, at least for that first day. that way you wont start crying cause you miss your baby.
7. Remember that you're doing this to give your baby a good life, a better future, a home and remember, it will be over in 8 hours, it will all be ok!

Kiss Gel Fantasy

Here is an update on my Kiss Gel Fantasy nails that I received complimentary from influenster.

 

 

I loved them when I put them on. the design was me, it was unique. but the sad thing is the glue that came with them wasn't good enough. I lost 2 nails within 3 hours. and let me tell you, I did nothing lol. I was at my baby shower. so yeah, I did nothing to make them fall, I wish I would of used the glue dots that came with it. maybe that would of made it last longer.

This Dove Pure Care Dry Oil Nourishing Treatment, wasnt  bad, it did make my hair shiny. I was hoping for it to repair my hair. since I got the Ombre hair thing going on. maybe if I keep testing it out it will help. Keep in mind I have only been using this for the past week. Maybe once I use it all up my hair will be in a better condition. A full size treatment runs for $12.99

This product wasnt listed on my little card. I guess it was like a little surprise! the Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant from Paula's Choice. I have used it twice. And I have to admit.. it gives you this amazing feeling. it hasnt broken me out yet.. which is good! and it makes me feel like I just got a facial or something. Sadly Im going to have to stop using it since it does have salicylic Acid and you shouldnt use that product while pregnant. But so far I like it. Im definitely going to give it another try after I have my baby.

False Down Syndrome/ Trisonomy Diagnostic

hmmm.. Ok.. it has been quite a bit of time. I feel like I can talk about this without crying.
In this blog I will tell you all how (in my opinion) a situation was not handled the correct way.

at 12 weeks 6 days I had my prenatal appointment at a new doctors office. I LOVE my old doc, but she is too far from work and where I live. so I did some research and tried to find a doctor closer to work. I was super excited! I got to meet with the Nurse first. she asked "do you want the baby to be checked for Down Syndrome* if you do we will need to get an ultrasound today." (Of course I said YES! I wanted to see my baby for the 1st time!) She explained to me that they  needed to get measurements, and check the fluid on the back of the neck or something and they needed to see the nasal bone. Well, my stubborn baby wouldn't turn. After 35 mins.. and a vaginal ultrasound he turned for literary 10 seconds, but covered his face with both hands. so the tech wrote. wasn't able to see a nasal bone.
OK.. now lets get to the "important part" I just thought you guys should hear about the pre-situation.

a week later.. On a Friday morning.. (around 11:40)

I got a call from the doctors office. (I will never forget our conversation) after asking me to verify my name and birthday. the nurse said.

Im just calling to let you know about the results for the trisomy 13.
OK
Your test came back positive. it looks like your baby has down syndrome
OH..
its not 100% accurate so we need to get another test done. it will just be a blood test.
OK
OK, We will see you Tuesday you can get the blood work done when you come see the doctor.

I was at work, I was trying not to cry. when I felt the tears coming out. I looked down at by bump and said, Don't you worry honey, Mommy will love you no matter what! Then I looked up and said, God you make everything perfect, I know my baby is perfect. when I said that I automatically felt better.
I told my hubby, he didn't take it too well, He was furious that they just called me and gave me bad news over the phone. he was also worried and he was also sad, upset. We didn't know why. we are both young and in perfect health (thank God!)
2 hours later my phone rang again. (again after asking me to verify my info)

Im sorry, I was just calling to let you know that I read the results wrong. your baby doesn't have DS* its actually Trisonomy 18 or trisonomy ## (I don't remember the other number) its actually worse then DS* so we will see you Tuesday.

I have to tell you, that was the longest weekend ever! I couldn't wait for it to be over! We decided to not tell anyone, we didn't want our family to worry. I was hoping they were wrong!

Once Tuesday was here. We went to the doctor's office. & this is how it went.
So, Im sure you had a big scare when they called and told you that the baby came back + with DS*
Yes!
Well, the Good thing is that its not DS* the bad thing is that it came back + with something else.
what is that (asked my husband)
That's a good question, its actually worse than DS* 90% of the time the fetus dies inside the mother the other 10% of the time it dies after its born, they usually don't last longer then a month.
(when she was explaining this to us, we were getting ready to listening to the heart beat)
She started making the most scary face. like OMG the hear beat is gone. she was shaking her head. and had a panic look on her face) of course I begin to worry. My husband said whats wrong. I cant find a heartbeat she said. then she finally moved to the other side, and there it was, A strong heartbeat... She was like OK, go get your blood drawn and in 7-10 days they will call you with the results. Bye!
In my opinion, she had no bedside manners, she wasn't sensitive about our situation at all, and said there was no heart beat before even moving the thing to try to find it.

7 days later. I got a call, the lady said I just wanted to let you know that your results came back negative. Baby is super healthy just like mommy! oh and she told me the Gender of the baby too!

Those where the hardest 2 1/2 weeks of my life. But I will tell you one thing my faith never went away. it got stronger. and my love for my baby grew more and more every day!
The 2nd test that I got done was the MaterniT21. they just drew some blood and that was it. I wish they would of done that first instead of worrying us like crazy for no reason.
Like I said, God makes everything perfect, and he sent me the biggest blessing ever and I knew it was perfect!
I think this doctor and her nurse could of handle the stuff different.
1. I was going to be seen Tuesday, she could of waited to give me the "bad news" that day and not over the phone.
2. I don't think telling people your baby has something worse and its going to die (even tho they weren't 100% sure) is a good thing to do.
3. When she told us she couldn't find the heart beat. without basically looking for it. (yeah.. you don't do that!)

anyways.. I got a new doctor.
I would recommend that if they ask you if you want to find out if the baby has DS* you request the MaterniT21 its fast and based on the blood, not on what the can see and cant. It will be accurate!

Elf Acne Fighting Foundation

I had heard so many Good things about this foundation that I simply Had To try it! Now, before I start talking about my experience with this foundation. I have to tell you, I have Dry Sensitive Skin.. I have heard about this foundation from girls with oily skin. I think us girls with dry sensitive skin are rare lol. Anyways, Let me get started with the review.

Pros:
8 Shades

Med-Full Coverage
Does not Oxidize
Matte finish (if you are into that)

Cons:
Gave me Dry Patches
Made my pores appear bigger (even with a primer)
Emphasized my fine lines
Made my skin look dry

I thing that if you have oily skin this foundation would work for you! But if you are a girl with dry skin or sensitive skin like me.. I would recommend to stay away from it.

So my Amazing husband got me this palette as one of our one yr Anniversary! I love it!

Here are a few Facts of this Palette. maybe if you are wondering if you should get it or not, This quick post will help you decide!

1. This Palette is not Only made with 100% Natural Cocoa Powder... It smells like Chocolate too!
2. The cute metal case looks like a Chocolate bar. It is like a magnet type because it is super easy to open but it closes perfectly. so there will be no problem with you taking it on your purse!

1. 14 of them weight .95g and 2 of them 2.8g.

Now, I do have to say that I love that your typical Highlight or Base colors are the biggest ones, because to me they are the most used ones.

Ulta Amped Lashes Mascara

So, I received this mascara from Ulta as a gift for buying something (I think it was one of those "spend over X and get this free" deals)
I wanted to do a first Impressions video, I think I chose a bad day to do the review, since I was tired and sick.
Here is the video I did

like I said on the Video
its not a bad mascara but I wouldn't buy it,
It didn't give me any volume like it claims it does (that is one of my main concerns with a mascara)
But... It didn't really smudged & it didn't clump my lashes together.
For $10 you can get a better mascara at the drugstore.

January Ipsy Bag

This months theme was 19 reasons 2014 will be AMAZING
I think they had 19 different products thats why they chose the number 19 but im not sure its just a guess. I had watched some youtube videos about what others got and it is more than obvious that they are focusing papering lips, hair and skin this month and the bonus makeup item was the eyeliner or the foundation brush. I was ok with my bag, Didnt love it as much as I did my 2 previous ones.

My first complain was that my bag STINKS lol smells like plastic or something.  But Im sure the smell will go away with time. Here are some pictures of the products I got. and I have to say I got all this for $10 so I am not complaining!
